The hostel's garden was a delightful oasis amidst the bustling city, offering a serene escape from the chaotic streets of Kandy. Sitting there, sipping my morning coffee, surrounded by lush greenery, I couldn't help but feel like I had stumbled upon a secret paradise.
Miscommunication regarding the dorm room resulted in being placed in a larger room than expected.

Amazing host, went out of their way to help us with train tickets and arranging a driver. Delicious and huge breakfast. - Clean bathrooms and homely communal area. - Great location, within walking distance to town and cheap tuk tuk ride back.
Deluxe double room didn't match the description, small size, no private entry, TV not working, poor wifi. Lack of guidance and help on things to do.

The hotel is conveniently located near the city center and provides a peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with great air conditioning for those hot days. The staff is friendly and accommodating, offering a delicious breakfast spread for guests. Additionally, the pool is a nice touch, surrounded by plants that create a pleasant ambiance.
The private rooms come at a high price and may not be worth the expense.

I had a fantastic stay at this cozy hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even packing a delicious lunch for my train journey. The room was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities, including a reading lamp and locker. The shared bathroom, although located outside, had a strong water pressure for a refreshing shower. The hostel's large living room and terrace were perfect for relaxing and meeting other travelers. The location, set amongst leafy banana trees, provided a tranquil atmosphere and a stunning view of the rolling hills. It was a great escape from the busy city center, yet still conveniently accessible by a short tuk-tuk ride or a 25-30 minute walk. The infinity pool was a highlight, offering a refreshing dip on hot days. this hostel provided a clean, comfortable, and relaxing experience at an affordable price.
The hostel could benefit from organizing more social activities, such as family dinners, to enhance the overall atmosphere.

The double room at Banana Bunks Kandy was just perfect! It had a private entrance, which made us feel like we had our own little space. The air conditioning was a huge plus in the warm weather, and the seating area provided a cozy spot to relax after a long day of exploring. The room had everything we needed, like bed linen and towels, which made our stay so convenient. As laid-back guests, we couldn't have asked for a better room!
If I had to nitpick, I would say that one thing I liked less was that not all rooms had a patio. But hey, that's just my personal preference, and I'm sure others would still enjoy their stay without it.

I stayed at Banana Bunks for a weekend getaway and had a fantastic time. The location was perfect - close enough to the city to explore easily, yet tucked away from all the noise. The room was clean, comfortable, and the A/C was a lifesaver after a hot day of sightseeing. The bathroom was impressive, and the staff were incredibly friendly, ensuring we had a delightful breakfast every morning. With a small number of rooms, it felt cozy and intimate.
Totally recommend this hotel.

The interior design is so appealing to Western tastes, and I loved spending time on the balcony and enjoying the view. The dorm room was clean and the lockers under the bed were a convenient feature. Plus, the pool was a refreshing treat.
I must admit that there were a few drawbacks.

A Pleasant Surprise
During my stay, I couldn't help but marvel at the lush garden surrounding the property. It was like stepping into a magical oasis, with vibrant flowers and foliage in every direction. The shared lounge provided a cozy atmosphere to relax and meet fellow travelers, allowing us to swap stories and create memories as if we were old friends. The highlight, however, was the terrace. Sitting there, sipping my morning coffee, I couldn't help but feel like I was on top of the world, taking in the breathtaking views of the garden beneath me.
